OUR CLUB ETHOS
Piltown Camogie Club exists to encourage and support Gaelic Games for women and girls.
The club is run by volunteers who train, mentor and administrate for the benefit of the players.
Players welfare is our first priority
A good club should be supportive, show leadership, guide members and uphold discipline.
We provide a safe environment, good facilities (kindly shared with us by Piltown GAA Club), qualified coaches and equal opportunities for game time for players who regularly attend training.
Mentors should not have unreal expectations of players, and always put their welfare first.
CLUB CODE OF BEHAVIOUR
The following is the Code to which all involved with Piltown Camogie Club should adhere.
PLAYERS:
Players should; be punctual, wear suitable gear, attend regularly, abide by the rules, enjoy their sport and do their best.
They should respect; each other, mentors, opponents, officials, rules and property.
They should not; use bad language, use foul play or disrupt training.
All players are responsible for their own playing kit.
Helmets should be worn at all times and the use of shin pads is encouraged to prevent scarring.
PARENTS/GUARDIANS:
Parents/Guardians should; encourage practice, be supportive of child & club, emphasise participation, show interest.
They should respect; all players, mentors, officials, and rules of the club.
They should not; be abusive, put undue pressure on a child, use bad language, or have unreal expectations.
TRAINERS/MENTORS
Trainers should; be punctual, be prepared, be patient, be enthuasiastic, be honest, make it enjoyable and respect players.
They should promote; dedication, honest effort, pride, discipline, loyalty and respect.
They should not; be sarcastic, abusive, use bad language or have favourites.
Mentors ensure every player wears a helmet during training and matches, and encourages the use of shinpads
